Crick Software

At Crick Software, we believe that every child has the right to develop as a reader and writer, regardless of their starting point, communication method or additional needs. Clicker was designed to help remove barriers that can prevent children from engaging successfully with literacy. By providing age-appropriate scaffolding and support for reading and writing, Clicker enables learners to participate alongside their peers while working at a level that meets their individual needs. It allows teachers to personalise support without separating pupils from the classroom experience, helping to create truly inclusive literacy opportunities.

Used across mainstream and specialist settings, Clicker supports a wide range of learners, including those with SEND, speech and language needs, English as an Additional Language, and children who lack confidence in reading and writing. Features such as word prediction, speech feedback, visual supports and writing scaffolds help learners develop independence, confidence and successful literacy habits.

Clicker is designed for inclusive classroom practice, enabling teachers to provide support where needed while allowing all learners to participate in the same literacy activities. This reflects the Alliance's commitment to raising expectations and ensuring that literacy is available to every learner, not just those who access it through traditional pathways.

As part of the Alliance for Inclusive Literacy, we look forward to working with fellow members to share evidence-informed practice, champion inclusive approaches and ensure that more children and young people experience success in literacy.
